Director of the Centre of Excellence for OSINT participated in the meeting of the EU’s Horizontal Working Party on Enhancing Resilience and Countering Hybrid Threats
At the invitation of the Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council, a delegation from the OSINT Center of Excellence (OSINT CoE) attended a regular meeting of the
Horizontal Working Party on Enhancing Resilience and Countering Hybrid Threats (HWP ERCHT) held in Brussels on July 16
th, 2024.
The Director of the OSINT CoE delivered a comprehensive presentation to the gathered diplomats from all EU member states on the OSINT CoE, its goals and mission. In this sense, particular emphasis was placed on the impact of the accelerated development of artificial intelligence on the selection and processing of public intelligence information, as well as the identification of non-traditional threats to European security. In a broader context, the importance of intensifying the exchange of open-source intelligence data through a standardized framework was also highlighted.
The presentations made by the Centre’s representatives aroused significant interest among the participating diplomats, which should in turn result in a dynamization of the accession of new states to the Centre's membership.
